MEETING OF PRIVATE SCHOOL HEADS.

APRIL 11, 2024—Divina Pastora College served as host for the Meeting of Private School Heads facilitated by the School Governance and Operations Division of DepEd SDO Gapan City headed by Ma'am Astrida Bernabe. This meeting aimed to inform and remind the private school administrators and LIS coordinators on their functions and responsibilities regarding enrollment, LIS encoding, processing of credentials, checking of year-end forms, and other administrative matters. The attendees were formally welcomed by DPC's President, Fr. Jose Salvador Mallari. Ma'am Daneth De Guzman, the Division Planning Officer, presented some updated instructions on BEIS for School Year 2023-2024. Sir Joselito Sayo, the SGOD-EPS in-charge of Private Schools, gave some reminders on how to deal with Special Cases, particularly the admission of foreign transferee-students, as per the Basic Education Enrollment Policy. Sir Arvin Deytiquez Dizon, the EPS for School Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, discussed the protocols in handling children in situations of armed conflict (CSAC), the functionality of the Child Protection Committee in schools, and the implementing rules and regulations of the Safe Spaces Act in educational institutions. We thank our dear partners in the Department of Education for rendering their support and assistance in administrative matters in the private education sector. We also thank the representatives from the member-schools of Gapan City Association of Private Schools (GCAPS) for their continuous, active participation in the orientations, meetings, and seminars designed by DepEd and by the association itself.
